Wurftaubenclub Wolfsburg von 1972 e.V. is a sporting club for clay target shooting, located at its own shooting range in Ehra-Lessien near Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. Founded in 1972, it currently has 198 active members and is one of the leading centers for clay target shooting in the region.
The shooting range features three Olympic disciplines: skeet, trap. The club holds the status of a state training center (Landesstützpunkt) for skeet in Lower Saxony: the state team (Landeskader), which largely consists of club members, trains here. The coaches are licensed by the DSB (Deutscher Schützenbund) and conduct sessions for all levels — from beginners to candidates for the national team. Weekly courses for beginners are held; inexperienced shooters are not allowed to participate in general training without prior instruction.
The club regularly organizes competitions: summer tournaments for skeet and trap, Kreismeisterschaft, Vereinsmeisterschaft, as well as the traditional Wolfsburger Jagdpokal — a hunting tournament with four disciplines. Supervision at the shooting range is carried out by certified NSSV instructors; first aid training is regularly conducted. The shooting range is suitable for both the shooter making their first shot and the athlete preparing for the German championship.
