About
Valley Gun Club — a shooting range for clay target shooting, located near the town of Paarl in the Western Cape, South Africa. The club occupies 40 hectares of land at the foot of the Simonsberg mountains amidst the vineyards of the Paarl valley and is one of the largest clay target shooting clubs in the region with over 250 members.
The range offers a wide variety of clay target shooting disciplines. For trap, there are 10 ATA and DTL format layouts, a separate universal trap layout, and an Olympic trap layout. Skeet is equipped with 2 layouts. Sporting is represented by 4 layouts, and compact sporting also has 4 layouts. Additionally, there is a layout for Helice (ZZ). Club competitions for all standard disciplines are held monthly.
The club's infrastructure includes a modern clubhouse with a kitchen, wood-fired pizzeria, and two covered areas for relaxation. A licensed bar operates on-site. There is a pro shop for firearms and ammunition, as well as a firearm storage facility. The club has its own contact trainer for booking lessons. The range regularly hosts corporate events and team-building activities.
The club is open on most public holidays, except for Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day. Valley Gun Club is suitable for both beginners making their first shots and experienced clay shooters preparing for provincial and national CTSASA competitions.
