About

Shooting Range Gaj is a shooting range for clay target shooting and Olympic disciplines with rifle and pistol, located near Pragersko in the Styria region (Slovenia), approximately 10–12 km from Maribor. The facility occupies 22 hectares of enclosed land and has been open since September 1999.

Clay target shooting is the main focus of the range. The site features five trap fields, including an Olympic trap and ABT. There are five separate fields for skeet, plus one additional field where skeet is combined with a hunting course — simulating field conditions for hunters. In total, the range has seven stands for clay target shooting. The facility is equipped with shot collection nets with a recovery efficiency of over 80%.

In addition to clay target disciplines, the range has a final hall for rifle and pistol, where Olympic disciplines in target shooting are held. The infrastructure includes a restaurant with 600 seats, a shop for hunting and shooting equipment, a workshop, and parking. The range organizes corporate events, team buildings, and banquets.

Since its opening, over 35 international competitions have been held here, featuring athletes from about 25 countries. Among the achievements is the range record of 125/125 at the 2004 Final World Cup and five world records during the 2009 World Championship. The range is suitable for both beginners and athletes preparing for international competitions.
