San Antonio Trap & Skeet
About
San Antonio Trap & Skeet — a public shooting range for clay target shooting in San Antonio, Texas, USA. The club was founded in 1921, and since 1930 it has been located at its current site at 928 E Contour Dr — within a large city, which is rare for ranges of this caliber. The range is open to all interested parties: membership is not required.
Clay target shooting is the club's primary focus. Five fields are equipped for ABT, set up for series of singles, handicap, and doubles targets according to ATA rules. There is a five-stand field with five positions and at least eight machines throwing various combinations of targets. American skeet is also available for shooters. An Olympic trap field operates separately. In 2013, the USA Shooting organization awarded the club the status of Certified Training Center — an official training center for the Olympic Games.
The club offers shotgun rentals and ammunition sales on-site. Training is conducted by certified instructors, including NSSA masters and Olympic trap coaches. For corporate and private events, there is a clubhouse with a fireplace, a meeting room, a covered pavilion with picnic and barbecue areas. The range regularly hosts registered competitions in trap and international disciplines.
The club is suitable for both first-time shooters and those preparing for the highest level of competition — from ATA registrations to Olympic qualifiers.
