Purbeck Shooting School
About
Purbeck Shooting School — a shooting range for clay target shooting, located near Wareham in Dorset, England. Founded in 1995 by Graham Brown, the range now occupies approximately 80 acres of mixed heathland and coniferous plantations and was once recognized as the best shooting range in the UK.
The main disciplines of clay target shooting are skeet, English sporting, and FITASC Sporting. The terrain allows for machines to be set up in various scenarios with realistic target presentations: many machines are hidden from the shooter's view, simulating real hunting. Most shooting positions are equipped with several machines with constantly changing target presentations. Some training positions are located under cover, allowing for lessons to be conducted in any weather.
In addition to clay target shooting, there is a range for air rifle shooting and the possibility of shooting with rifled firearms at targets. The shooting school hosts corporate events, hen and stag parties, as well as competitions. Instructors work with all skill levels — from complete beginners to experienced shooters, offering individual lessons, gun selection, and fitting. There is a clubhouse on the premises.
