Prince George's County Trap and Skeet Center
About
Prince George's County Trap and Skeet Center — a public shooting range for clay target shooting located in Glenn Dale, Maryland (USA), just 20 minutes from Washington. The range is owned and operated by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission and is open to all year-round without prior reservation. The range offers a wide variety of clay target shooting disciplines. There are 8 trap fields, including an international trap (Olympic bunker) — one of the few such facilities in the USA. For skeet, there are 13 fields, including an international skeet. Separate fields are available for wobble trap and five-stand. The sporting course features 20–22 stations with covered positions, laid out in fields and woods; the stations are equipped with a card-operated automatic clay target release system. Leagues and tournaments for trap, skeet, and sporting are held regularly throughout the year. The infrastructure of the range is designed for both beginners and experienced shooters. The First Shot program — a mandatory 30-minute introductory safety course for those handling a shotgun for the first time — is available. Shotgun and golf cart rentals, an on-site pro shop with ammunition and accessories, as well as training for all skill levels are offered. The sporting fields have paved paths and are accessible for wheelchair shooters. The clubhouse with a terrace overlooking the fields serves as a relaxation area between rounds. The range accommodates corporate events and large groups. The minimum age for participation is 14 years; shooters under 17 are allowed only when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
