About

Polígono Lo Aguirre CODEFEN is the shooting range of the Confederación Deportiva de la Defensa Nacional de Chile, located in the commune of Pudahuel, west of Santiago, along the Ruta 68 highway. The facility combines clay target shooting and classic Olympic disciplines, catering to both athletes and beginners.

In the clay target shooting section, there is one trap field and three skeet fields: it was here, on field No. 2, that Francisca Crovetto won the first gold medal for Chile at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games in the skeet discipline in October 2023. The range served as the official venue for shooting competitions at these Games.

Among other disciplines, there is a 10 m range for air rifle and air pistol, a 25 m range for pistol, and a 50 m range for smallbore rifle. Electronic targets manufactured by the Swiss company Sius meet international ISSF standards. Benchrest competitions are also held at distances of 50 m, 100 yards, and 150 m. The range regularly hosts inter-agency CODEFEN championships involving the Army, Navy, Air Force, Carabineros, and Investigative Police.

The facility is suitable for training for competitions at the level of the Pan American Games and is one of the key shooting venues in Chile.
