About
Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club — a private club for members, established in 1935 and located in New Tripoli, Pennsylvania. The range welcomes shooters from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and other states, offering a wide range of disciplines — from trap shooting to rifle and pistol ranges.
In trap shooting, the club features six ABT fields. In addition to ABT, the club is known as an Olympic trap facility: the range's Facebook page positions it as an "Olympic-style Trapshooting Facility" in northeastern Pennsylvania. Skeet is also available and open to visitors during operating hours. The club is registered with the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA). For newcomers to trap, free shotgun rentals and individual instruction with an instructor are available — pre-registration is required for Thursday evenings or Saturday afternoons.
Among other facilities is a 25-yard pistol range for centerfire, .22 caliber pistols, and pistol caliber carbines (PCC), as well as several shotgun ranges at distances of 50, 100, 200, and 300 yards. Five ranges are open for general membership, while another nine are designated for training and competitions. The Eastern Pennsylvania Steel Shooting League operates here. The club has developed youth programs: Junior Rifle, Junior Archery, Hunter Safety, and Jakes Day. The range is suitable for both first-time exposure to trap shooting and preparation for registered ATA competitions.
