Olympic Shooting Centre
About
The Olympic Shooting Centre (Centro Militar de Tiro Esportivo — CMTE, also known as Centro Olímpico de Tiro) is located in the Deodoro area of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The range serves as the country's main facility for clay target shooting at the national team level and international competitions.
In clay target shooting disciplines, Olympic trap and skeet are conducted here. It is at this venue that the Brazilian Confederation of Shooting (CBTE) organizes centralized training for the national team, the South American Cup in clay target shooting, and other official ISSF competitions. The number of fields and machines for each discipline is not specified in available sources.
In addition to clay target disciplines, the facility hosts rifle and pistol competitions under the ISSF program: 10m air rifle, 10m air pistol, 25m pistol, rapid fire pistol, and 50m rifle in three positions. The range was used during the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and remains a training and competition hub for Brazilian athletes.
The facility is primarily aimed at athletes from national teams and federated clubs; availability for private visitors and beginners requires clarification directly with the administration.
