Olympic Shooting Range "Geschäftsstelle des BSSB e.V."
About
The Olympic Shooting Range Garching-Hochbrück (Olympia-Schießanlage) is located in the suburbs of Munich — Garching-Hochbrück — and is the largest public shooting range in the world. The facility has been owned by the Bavarian Union of Sports Shooters (BSSB) since 1972 and serves as a federal training center and venue for the Bavarian and German championships. Clay target shooting is focused on the Clay Target Arena — five combined layouts for trap and skeet, built between 2007 and 2009. The spectator stand was modernized in 2010 and is equipped with modern sound insulation. The range is open to licensed shooters with their own shotgun on Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:30 PM to 7:00 PM, as well as on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:30 PM to 7:00 PM (in winter and spring — until sunset). The range offers training in trap, double trap shooting, and skeet for beginners, hunters, and experienced shooters, including group and individual instruction. The cost of group sessions includes shotgun rental, ammunition, and insurance. In addition to clay target disciplines, the facility features a rifle hall with 102 lanes at 50 m, 42 of which allow shooting at 100 and 300 m. The airgun hall provides year-round competitions in air rifle and air pistol with electronic scoring. Since 2019, there has been an archery range with a 120-meter shooting line. Crossbow disciplines are also represented in the rifle hall. On-site is the Olympia hotel with 40 rooms, a restaurant, and a beer garden, conference rooms, a gym for competitive athletes, and free parking with direct access to the A 99 motorway. The shooting range is suitable for both first-time experiences in clay target shooting and preparation for international competitions.
