Old Hudson Plantation
About
Old Hudson Plantation — a shooting range for clay target shooting covering 1,700 acres near Sparta, Georgia, USA. The facility is open to everyone — from beginners to experienced shooters preparing for competitions.
The range offers three separate sporting clays courses: Woods Course (12 stations, 4 machines at each), Red Course (15 stations, competition-level targets), and White Course (13 stations, 3 machines, featuring unique fire trucks as elevated platforms for target presentation). In addition to sporting clays, there are two skeet and trap fields, two five-stand layouts, and a Dove Field used for FITASC practice depending on the season. All sporting courses are equipped with the Promatic Card System: shooters activate the machines with a card independently, without the need for staff at each station. The standard series consists of 100 targets across 12–18 stations, but the system allows for shooting any number.
The range is an NSCA sanctioned facility and hosts about a dozen registered competitions each year, including the American Grand Prix, Georgia State FITASC Championship, and Beretta Classic. Weekly public events "Shoot & Eat" take place on Thursdays and Sundays. There is shotgun rental, instructors, a pistol range for club members, a pro shop with firearms and ammunition, two event pavilions, and 30 camper spots. The range also offers quail and pheasant hunting during the season (October–March).
