Nuthampstead Shooting Ground
About
Nuthampstead Shooting Ground — a clay target shooting range located on the former Nuthampstead airfield in North Hertfordshire, England, bordering Cambridgeshire and Essex. Established in 1987, it has been owned by the Barker family for over 30 years. It is registered with the CPSA as a Premier Shooting Ground and welcomes shooters from beginners to international-level athletes.
The offering is centered around four Olympic trap layouts, used for both training and competitions — including selection shoots and inter-county championships. Alongside the trap, there is a skeet layout, as well as a DTL and English Sporting field. The sporting stands are positioned around the outer perimeter of the mounds surrounding the trap layouts.
The range specializes in international disciplines and offers coaching services and training camps. Lessons include shotgun rental, equipment, and ammunition. There is a kitchen on-site that prepares food and drinks for visitors and corporate events. The shooting ground accommodates groups of any size — from individual lessons to large corporate days and celebratory events.
Nuthampstead is suitable for both first-time experiences in clay target shooting and focused preparation for international-level competitions in trap and skeet.
