Mission Skeet & Trap Club
About
Mission Skeet & Trap Club — a non-profit shooting range located in the city of Mission, Texas (USA), situated in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley. Founded in 1964 as McAllen Gun Club, it serves both novice and experienced clay shooters from across Texas and neighboring states.
The range offers four main disciplines of clay shooting: skeet, sporting, and five-stand. The facilities include coin-operated machines for self-service clay shooting, allowing for convenient practice without waiting in line. Thanks to a grant from the MidwayUSA Foundation for range development, a new machine has been installed on skeet field #1, along with new machines for sporting clays. Plans are in place to light up fields 1, 3, and 4, expanding opportunities for evening training.
In addition to clay shooting disciplines, the club features an outdoor pistol range and an archery range with over 30 three-dimensional targets (members only). The clubhouse is air-conditioned and serves as a place to relax between rounds. Hearing and eye protection can be purchased on-site. The club provides referrals to specialized trainers and actively supports youth sports teams.
The club regularly hosts competitions, including the annual "Citrus Fiesta Open" — one of the first registered tournaments in the state of Texas.
