The JSSV Herrieden-Wieseth shooting range is located at the Schießanlage Deffersdorf in the city of Wieseth, Bavaria, Germany. The club is a member of two of the largest shooting sports federations in Germany — DSB (Deutscher Schützenbund) and BDS (Bund Deutscher Sportschützen 1975), and its members have represented Germany at competitions ranging from district to Olympic levels.
Trap shooting is one of the key disciplines of the club. The range features facilities for both sporting and hunting trap as well as sporting and hunting skeet. The club regularly hosts competitions of various levels: notably, Bavarian championships in trap and skeet, as well as BDS tournaments for smoothbore firearms. Individual training sessions with licensed DSB coaches for clay target disciplines are available for competition preparation.
In addition to clay target shooting, the range has 25-meter and 100-meter shooting stands for rifle disciplines. Among the BDS disciplines represented are precision and speed shooting, Western, 3-Gun, and Ordonnanzgewehr. There is also a hunting parcours and a stand for shooting at the moving target "Laufender Keiler" (50 m). Regular hunting training (BJV) and state hunting exams for Middle Franconia are conducted on the premises. The range has its own parking area in front of the entrance gates.
