Iðavellir Skotsvæði

Iðavellir — a shooting range of the Skotíþróttafélag Hafnarfjarðar (SÍH) in Hafnarfjörður, near Reykjavík, Iceland. The club was founded in 1965 and is one of the oldest shooting societies in the country. The range is suitable for both beginners and experienced clay shooters preparing for competitions.

Iðavellir features three clay shooting disciplines. Skeet — a layout with eight stations arranged in a semicircle; shooters complete series of 25 targets, alternating single shots and pairs from two machines. Nordic Trap — a layout with five stations in a line and one oscillating trap on the ground; the machine automatically changes the angle and speed between shots, making the discipline more accessible than Olympic trap and convenient for smaller ranges. Compact Sporting — a discipline that is actively cultivated at the club: Iðavellir regularly hosts both internal club competitions and the Icelandic Championships (Landsmót STÍ) in compact sporting.

The club has its own clubhouse on the range premises. The range regularly hosts national competitions in various clay shooting disciplines, including skeet and compact sporting. Iðavellir is a convenient base for both first-time encounters with clay shooting and systematic preparation for competitions at any level.
