About
Guernsey Clay Target Shooting Club — the largest clay target shooting club on the island of Guernsey, established in 1967 in an old granite quarry. The club is a non-profit organization run by its members; it has around 100 shooters aged from 13 to 70 years.
The main shooting ground is located at Portinfer Point on the northwest coast of Guernsey. Here, shooting takes place for English skeet, Olympic skeet, sporting, ABT, and Olympic trap. A second shooting ground is situated on the cliffs of the southern coast: a natural valley is used several times a year for challenging 'wild' sporting series that take into account the terrain. The club also organizes the Channel Islands Sporting Championship — an open tournament for shooters from the Channel Islands and Great Britain.
Environmentally, the club has been using biodegradable targets and biodegradable wad ammunition since 2016. The shooting ground is equipped with automatic machines for stable target presentation; club guns are available for rent. There is parking directly at the shooting ground, and for larger events, parking is available at the adjacent public beach. The club is affiliated with the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) and is suitable for both first-time experiences in clay shooting and preparation for registered competitions.
