Gold Coast Clay Target Club
About
Gold Coast Clay Target Club — a shooting range for clay target shooting located in Woongoolba, Queensland, Australia, at 81 Gross Road. The club has a history dating back to 1950 and has been operating at its current site since 1991. It welcomes shooters of all levels, from beginners to competition participants.
The range offers a wide variety of clay target shooting disciplines. There are five DTL trap fields, one Olympic trap field, and a universal trap available. For skeet, there are three fields, including the Olympic version of the discipline. Sporting is represented by two fields and a Five Stand layout. The trap machines are new Twin Lap Laport models. The club is doubly affiliated with Sporting Clays Australia (SCA) and the Australian Clay Target Association (ACTA).
Competitions are held monthly on Sundays with a separate schedule for each discipline. The club has qualified coaches for all disciplines, offers Come and Try sessions for new shooters (including shotgun rentals, ammunition, hearing and eye protection), and organizes corporate events and group shoots. The range is accessible for people with mobility limitations. The club is suitable for both first-time experiences in clay target shooting and preparation for state and national level competitions.
