Courtlough Shooting Grounds
About
Courtlough Shooting Grounds is a shooting range for clay target shooting and other shooting disciplines, located in Balbriggan, County Dublin, Ireland. Established in 1996 by the Flynn family, the range spans 75 acres and offers facilities for both beginners and experienced shooters up to international level.
Clay target shooting is the primary focus. Available disciplines for club members and licensed shooters include DTL (Down the Line), Olympic Trap, Automatic Ball Trap (ABT), Skeet, Sporting, FITASC, and Compact Sporting. All layouts are fully covered, making the range suitable for training and competitions year-round, regardless of weather conditions. Experience packages for non-member visitors are offered, featuring guided clay shooting sessions with a qualified instructor — series of 25 or 50 clays using a 12-gauge shotgun.
In addition to clay disciplines, the range has indoor ranges for club members: a rifle range for .22 LR (up to 50 m) and a pistol range. A separate range is available for beginners. All instructors are qualified by CPSA, NRA, or Lantra.
The infrastructure includes a well-stocked pro shop (official dealer for Beretta, Benelli, Browning, Franchi, Miroku, Winchester, Sako), a club bar, and The Smokehouse café with an open fire and barbecue area. The range accommodates corporate events, team training, and groups from 1 to 200 people. Membership provides access to all disciplines, discounts on private lessons, and firearm storage in lockers. The minimum age for attendance is 14 years.
