About

County Clays — a clay shooting range located within the grounds of Dunkeld House Hotel in Dunkeld, Perthshire, Scotland. Established in 1990, it is positioned as the largest sporting venue in Scotland. It caters to both experienced shooters and those holding a shotgun for the first time.

The main discipline is sporting: the course features 14 stands, each offering between six to nine different clay presentations. Among them are a high tower pheasant simulation, partridge, a rabbit on the run, and other targets. The venue also includes skeet and DTL-style presentations. Overall, a shooter can encounter over 120 different clay presentations. For experienced shooters with their own shotgun certificate, a Caddied Pay-Per-Clay format is available — a self-guided course with a caddy. Ammunition can be purchased on-site or brought from home (maximum 28g, shot size 7, fiber wad).

All instructors are qualified to APSI Level 2. Beginner packages include shotgun rental, ammunition, and instruction. An annual charity competition, "Saints and Sinners," takes place every May, along with the Kinrara Gin Challenge in partnership with John Dixon Gunmakers.

Additionally, archery (recurve bow) and air rifle shooting are available at the range. There is a lodge lounge for groups with catering and barbecue options. The range hosts corporate events, stag parties, and family groups. The minimum age for participation is 12 years.
