Club de Tiro Somontes
About
Club de Tiro Somontes — a private shooting club in Madrid, located in the Monte del Pardo nature reserve just minutes from the city center. Founded in 1939, the club is one of the oldest and most renowned shooting ranges in Spain: since 1940, national and international competitions have been regularly held here, and among the club members are world-class champions.
The range offers several stands for clay target shooting: Olympic trap, compact sporting, hélices, as well as a hunting simulation stand (ojeo) — mimicking field hunting with four parallel lanes and one remote lane, where four machines operate. Shooter forums also mention skeet and hunting simulation. The machine control systems are intelligent, activated by personal shooter cards.
The club has its own trap shooting school with courses for beginners and advanced shooters, as well as an archery section with similar training programs. The infrastructure includes a gunsmith shop with a workshop (storage, maintenance, repair, and adjustment of shotguns), individual lockers for gear and ammunition, a bar-restaurant with a terrace, social halls, a swimming pool, carp for events, and ample parking. The club organizes corporate and private events. Visitors can come as guests of club members; club members enjoy discounts of up to 50% on shooting sessions and priority access to the stands.
The range is suitable for both beginner shooters making their first shots under the guidance of an instructor and experienced athletes preparing for competitions at the Olympic trap or compact sporting level.
