Charlotte Rifle & Pistol Club
About
Charlotte Rifle & Pistol Club (CR-PC) — a shooting range for clay target shooting and other shooting disciplines, located in Waxhaw, North Carolina, approximately 25 miles south of downtown Charlotte. The club is a membership organization and offers a wide range of programs for both beginners and experienced shooters.
Clay target shooting is represented by three disciplines: ABT, skeet, and five-stand. The five-stand layout operates only on weekends. Among the confirmed facilities are one trap field, one combined field, two skeet fields, and one five-stand layout. The club also has several training areas with simple targets for those who are just learning the basics of clay target shooting. From January to May, team "flurry" competitions are held on the first Saturday of each month on the five-stand, open to all interested. The club organizes corporate and charity shoots, and instruction is available by appointment.
In addition to clay target disciplines, the range features open areas for rifle, pistol, plinking, and archery, a closed pistol range with 24/7 access for club members (subject to qualification), as well as a specialized area for Steel Challenge and a youth program for air rifle. The range is suitable for both first-time experiences with clay target shooting and preparation for competitions.
