About

Canterbury Clay Target Club (CCTC) is one of two national shooting ranges for clay target shooting in New Zealand, located in Christchurch on McLeans Island. The club was established in 1994 through the merger of the Christchurch and Belfast Gun Clubs, and today it serves as the official venue for New Zealand's highest-level competitions.

The range offers a wide variety of clay target shooting disciplines. There are 10 DTL layouts — the largest number among clubs in New Zealand. Skeet is represented by 6 standard layouts and 1 ISSF layout. For ABT, there are 3 layouts, as well as 1 universal trap layout for ISSF. Additionally, the club hosts sporting competitions. The competition schedule includes club championships, team matches (Vale Shield, Canterbury Shield), school championships, and qualifying rounds for ISSF Skeet/Trap South Zone.

Two DTL layouts and one skeet layout are equipped with automatic token boxes for self-training. ISSF practice (trap and skeet) is available by prior arrangement. On competition days, the club rents out shotguns and sells ammunition and hearing protection. There are club facilities, camping, and corporate areas on site.

CCTC is suitable for both beginners making their first shot and experienced clay shooters preparing for national and international competitions.
