Campo de Tiro Nave à Metade
About
Campo de Tiro Nave à Metade is a shooting range for clay target shooting, located between the towns of Pedra do Altar and Vale da Mua near Proença-a-Nova (Castelo Branco district, Portugal). The facility is primarily aimed at experienced shooters and those who are just beginning to familiarize themselves with the discipline.
The main discipline is trap. After updating the equipment, the range has received five new clay target launchers, allowing for the practice of various angles and speeds—conditions identical to those encountered in regional and national competitions. The range is managed by Davide Mateus, a world champion in trap shooting.
The shooting range is situated on open terrain with grass cover; shooting positions are protected by canopies from the sun. Next to the range, there is a bar open every Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 2 PM until sunset, as well as on other days by prior arrangement. Competitions are held here by the Clube de Caçadores do concelho de Proença-a-Nova and the Clube de Tiro de Proença-a-Nova. The range attracts shooters from various parts of Portugal, as it is one of the few facilities of this level in the districts of Castelo Branco, Guarda, and Portalegre.
