Caboolture Clay Target Club
About
Caboolture Clay Target Club (CCTC) — a shooting range for clay target shooting, located at 558 Uhlmann Road, Burpengary, Queensland, Australia, approximately 40 km north of Brisbane. The club was established in 1992 as a non-profit organization, primarily operated by volunteers, and is an affiliated member of the Australian Clay Target Association (ACTA) and SSAA.
CCTC offers four main disciplines of clay target shooting: DTL, skeet, five-stand, and sporting. The infrastructure includes 4 DTL fields, 3 skeet fields, 1 permanent five-stand field, and 1 sporting field set in a natural bush environment. Additionally, there is a training area for beginners ("Larry & Moe"), where newcomers can learn basic skills before transitioning to the main disciplines. The five-stand layout features machines that cover from 3 to 8 positions and can throw various types of targets — rabbit, teal, battue, and super-mini.
The range is open for practice from Thursday to Saturday: Thursday — from 09:00 to 14:30 (DTL and skeet), Friday and Saturday — from 10:30 to 16:00 (DTL, skeet, and five-stand). The last booking for shooting is at 15:00. Competitions are held every Sunday according to the schedule: 1st Sunday — DTL, 2nd — skeet, 4th — sporting. The club offers gun rentals (10 AUD), sells ammunition, and conducts regular safe handling courses. There is a clubhouse with a bar and light snacks, a children's playground, covered areas, and restrooms. Corporate and group bookings are accepted (from 5 persons — prior booking is essential). The minimum age for shooters is 11 years.
