About

Brushy Mountain Club — a private shooting range for club members and their guests, located near the city of Hurt in southern Virginia, USA, on a site of approximately 300 acres. The club focuses on clay target shooting and related disciplines, suitable for both beginners and experienced shooters.

Clay target shooting is represented by several disciplines. For skeet, there are five fields, the first of which is a combined field — skeet and ABT. The club hosts two to three registered NSSA competitions each year. Sporting is represented by two separate courses — the Freeman Course and the Woods Course (super sporting), as well as a five-stand layout. The club is a registered NSCA facility and regularly hosts Virginia state-level sporting competitions.

In addition to clay target shooting, the range features an indoor rifle range with distances of 100, 200, and 300 yards (approximately 91, 183, and 274 m), concrete tables, and several berms-targets. The indoor pistol range (opened in 2015) has berms on three sides and tables of varying heights. It is adjacent to six Steel Challenge lanes. Monthly matches for Va Steel (Steel Challenge) and ABRA 22lr competitions are held; twice a year, 200-yard Schützen matches take place. An active SCTP youth program is in place for students from elementary school to college. There are camper spots available for participants in out-of-town competitions with water and electric hookups.
