Ben Avery Shooting Facility Clay Target Center
About
Ben Avery Shooting Facility Clay Target Center — a public shooting range for clay target shooting in North Phoenix, Arizona, USA. The facility is managed by the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) and is located on over 660 acres. The range is open to everyone — from beginners to experienced shooters preparing for competitions.
Clay target shooting is represented by a wide range of disciplines: ABT, Olympic trap, skeet, sporting, and five-stand. For sporting, there are four separate courses of varying difficulty levels — from beginner to master. Overall, the range has 16 illuminated fields for trap and skeet with voice-activated machines.
The infrastructure includes an air-conditioned clubhouse, a covered pavilion, relaxation areas with canopies, water stations, and a full-hookup campground for RVs (99 sites). On-site, there is a pro shop with equipment, eye and ear protection, and targets. Shotgun and ammunition rentals are available. First-time visitors are required to watch a safety video. The range hosts registered competitions at both regional and national levels, as well as corporate events.
The facility is suitable for both first-time experiences with clay target shooting and systematic training before official competitions in trap, skeet, or sporting.
