Beijing Shooting Range Clay Target Field

103 Xiangshan South Road, Shijingshan District, Beijing

About

The Beijing Shooting Range Clay Target Field is located in the Shijingshan District of Beijing, China, on the site of the former shooting and archery management center of the State Sports Committee. The facility is one of eleven reconstructed venues from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and served as an arena for clay target shooting competitions. The range features Olympic disciplines including Trap (飞碟多向), Skeet (飞碟双向), and Double Trap (飞碟双多向). The competition area includes six international standard fields: one final and five qualifying. The clay target throwers are housed in high and low towers styled after the Great Wall of China. During the 2008 Olympics, five sets of medals were contested in men's and women's Trap and Skeet events. The total area of the building is approximately 6,077 square meters. The stands accommodate 4,999 spectators, with 3,394 permanent seats and 1,605 temporary ones. The angle of the stands is 22°, providing a comfortable view of the fields. About 60% of the permanent seats are equipped with sun and rain protection. The facility is fully accessible for people with disabilities, with ramps in restrooms and stands, as well as an elevator to the second level. After the Olympics, the range is used as a training base. The operating schedule is determined according to events and training schedules. The venue is suitable for preparing athletes for international competitions in Trap, Skeet, and Double Trap.
